rescued nothing

It was a quiet, uneventful evening. I was a young teenager and had a small piece of canvas available. Plans to go workout were postponed when inspiration struck.

The thrill of improvising out of a scrape piece of cotton fabric, primed with acrylic, an artwork of any sort compelled me to create a tabletop scene that didn’t exist before.

I had rescued from the garbage bag an image into someone’s cup of water.

When finished, I eventually did put on sneakers and went out for a jog, feeling resourceful and fulfilled. In hindsight, it really wasn’t all that epic but shouldn’t life be enjoyed by the all the little things?
