Hidden Night

It had a moon, but clouds years later concealed it.

Up until this point, I was painting to bring forth subjects into the light, pulling them out of the shadows until they shone up close. This idea was totally different:

Hide in the pitch blackness of the night.

It’s a essentially a monochrome, a play between familiar colors, only enlivened here and there with crucial shines to draw out of ghostly silhouettes, recognizable shapes.
